eCos

Introduction

eCos is an open source, royalty-free, real-time operating system intended for embedded applications. The highly configurable nature of eCos allows the operating system to be customised to precise application requirements, delivering the best possible run-time performance and an optimised hardware resource footprint. A thriving net community has grown up around the operating system ensuring on-going technical innovation and wide platform support.

  • eCos release 2.0 is checked into the subversion repository

Downloading eCos

Source code for current development of the OpenRISC eCos port is available from the OpenCores SVN repository using:

svn co http://opencores.org/ocsvn/openrisc/openrisc/trunk/ecos

At this point no binaries for the OpenRISC are available due to development status of the eCos port.

No documentation available at this time. See eCos web site for platform independent documentation.

Wish List (TODO List)

This is what we would like to develop/see developed but presently nobody is working on these projects. If you want to help, send an email to the mailing list.

  • Device Drivers for various OpenCores peripherals (ethernet, usb, uart etc)

If you have a suggestion for new Wish List entry, feel free to send it to the mailing list so that is added to the list and somebody may start working on it.
